Sugarcane TCH and TAH calculator
A TOOL FOR GROWERS
Calculate TCH and TAH for your fields.
From harvested area to sugar yield per hectare. See results for each field and for the combined area.
Free · no registrationUse data from the same period. Enter hectares and tonnes. Use a decimal point (10.5); enter thousands as 1000 or 1,000.
Optional ATR: enter it for every completed field to calculate TAH as well. Without ATR, the calculator provides TCH only.
How the indicators are calculated
TCH = tonnes of cane ÷ harvested hectares.
TAH = TCH × ATR ÷ 1,000. ATR is total recoverable sugar in kilograms per tonne of cane. Use each field’s average ATR, weighted by cane tonnage.
For the combined area, the calculator adds up cane and recoverable sugar across fields, then divides each total by harvested area. Completely empty rows are ignored.
TAH calculated from ATR represents tonnes of recoverable sugar per hectare. These are physical yield indicators: they do not measure profitability or isolate the effect of any farming practice.
Compare like with like
Use equivalent harvest periods and areas. Changes in weather, field composition and management can affect comparisons. TCH measures cane yield, ATR measures recoverable sugar per tonne of cane, and TAH brings both together on an area basis.
